Friday STEAM Enrichment Academy Program

The purpose of the Pearls Among the Ivy Foundation is to sponsor, implement and promote quality programs of service for the citizens and diverse communities of Greensboro and Guilford County. The Pearls Among the Ivy Foundation focuses on STEM enrichment activities for middle school students.

This summer, we have partnered with Shalom Community Christian Church to facilitate STEAM activities on Fridays for children from pre-K through eighth grade. During the S.M.A.R.T. (Science, Math, Art, Reading and Technology) Academic and Enrichment Summer Program, Pearls Among the Ivy Foundation members will provide hands-on STEAM activities and moderate conversations with guest speakers who will showcase the range of careers in the sciences.

Guest speakers will include personnel from the Greensboro Police Department Forensic Sciences Unit, NC Cooperative Extension at North Carolina A&T, WFMY television station, and many more.
